In regard to those Christians who oppose gay marriage.
I have been giving much thought lately to the absurdity of the essential arguments used by Christianists to oppose gay marriage. To begin with it seems as if a vast swath of modern well-to-do socially conservative Christians know of gay people (either personally or through TV) who they admire and/or treat kindly. We can infer from this that they think of them as equivalents if not at the least an entertaining novelty which deserves respect. Yet when you bring up the possibility of this class being able to marry each other you are met with dismay and a heavy helping of self righteousness. Most start reverting back to arguments made in the Old Testament or use some sort of argument derived from the laws of nature (eeewww two penises do not go together or something similar). The problem is that this wooden line of reasoning, which calls on them to mobilize the federal government to help in outlawing gay marriage because it is an affront to God, should also logically have as an end result the incarceration or elimination of gays at the hand of the government. If something is truly of disgust to God how can a true Christians allow gays to live down the street engaging in abominable acts in the secrecy of their home. This should be outlawed. Yet society has evolved to a point where that argument is taboo and can only be heard in places such as the deepest darkest reaches of the Appalachian mountains. So these Christians are left in an awkward situation where they enjoy Ellen, flaming fashion designers and that decorator/hair dresser down the street but still have a reserve of bigotry that calls on them to stand in the way of those sinners who want to marry. Surprisingly this purist view of marriage does not extend to those with multiple divorces and/or those with multiple extramarital to their credit. Only gays. Why? Because there are not many of them and thus are easy to bully. Also the thrill to their heart provided by denouncing sin that most do not struggle with cannot be equaled. It is the best of both worlds. They can act friendly to a homosexual's face but can gather in church behind their backs and denounce them as unclean. But one can take solace in knowing that this hypocrisy shall die at the hands of the up and coming generations.

Prince Caspian
Pretty decent film once you take it for what it is, which is an epic for children. Although saying that there are still too many moments that one has to grit the teeth and look down at the ground. An example would be the overly enthusiastic proclamations of the child thespians during the battle scenes. I also have to point out that the plot is a little clunky much like the books. The religious imagery bludgeons the audience into unwilling submission. But the special effects have received a much needed upgrade since the first installment and the battle scenes were actually entertaining most of time. So it is worth seeing especially if you have children.

South Park
The hippie episode of South Park has to be considered one of the most profound of human achievements. I am watching it via evil Comcast's "On Demand" service as I write this.

GOP Primary
Spend a few minutes on YouTube browsing through campaign ads for the GOP candidates and it becomes apparent that religion, gays and abortion overshadow all other policy issues. You see little to no mention of foreign policy, economic policy or environmental policy. This is disheartening. I believe on issues like health care and the environment we need free market alternatives to the Democrat's plans for a further expansion of government. It is sad that the GOP is enslaved to the religious right but Rove and others helped make this bed now they must lie in it. They certainly did not think religious voters would gain this much control. In the past the GOP gave orders and Christians followed. Now the tables are turned and the specter of the folksy, populist Huckabee haunts Wall Street and limited government secularists who usually vote Republican. As I have said before the tectonic plates of the GOP are shifting and a schism is looming. Huckabee was bound to occur sooner or later. Christian voters have helped turn the GOP towards big government on foreign policy, privacy and government spending. The next phase of this is most likely an increase in protectionism, xenophobia (interestingly Huckabee defies them on this issue thus far), and extreme religious demagoguery. Too bad the vessel for the otherside is Rudy. Save us Colin Powell.

The Biology of Homosexuality.
via FOX NEWS
Fascinating Article.
Some Excerpts:
If homosexuality can be "turned off" quite a few moral dilemmas will arise. The main one being could and should we vaccinate babies against homosexuality? If such a vaccine was available I would surely use it on my children. Imagine living in a country in which a substantial portion of the population believes their God banishes "your kind" to hell and is intolerant of a lifestyle that chose you in the womb. How terrifying must that be? I sometimes shudder to think what it must be like for a young man or woman who is attracted to the same sex. Imagine having parents and friends that despise gays and a preacher who promises hell fire for them. I am glad I was born straight and wish the same for my child.
Fascinating Article.
Some Excerpts:
While several studies find homosexuality in humans and other animals is biological rather than learned, a question remains over whether it's a hard-wired phenomenon or one that can be altered.
A new study finds that both drugs and genetic manipulation can turn the homosexual behavior of fruit flies on and off within a matter of hours.
While the genetic finding supports the thinking that homosexuality is hard-wired, the drug finding surprisingly suggests it's not that simple.
In fact, homosexuality in the fruit flies seems to be regulated by how they interpret the scent of another.

Time's 50 Top 10 list.
Some of these lists are decent and some of them are embarrassing. Including Waitress in the top 10 films of the year is absurd. The top 10 songs of the year is a particularly atrocious list. Not including Kanye is a crime. Anyways take a look. I am going to countdown my top 10 songs of the year tonight.

Humans evolving quickly.

Good read.
Science fiction writers have suggested a future Earth populated by a blend of all races into a common human form. In real life, the reverse seems to be happening. People are evolving more rapidly than in the distant past, with residents of various continents becoming increasingly different from one another, researchers say.
Good read.

Crazy website of the day.
This SITE receives a 10/10. Among the claims made on this site is the following:
I am hoping this is a joke. But it is awesome nonetheless.
he Election of Hillary Clinton to the White House will Seal The Doom of America just as The Election of Adolf Hitler sealed the fate of Nazi Germany. Overstatement? Impossible? Read On and remember;
"IT IS NOT PARANOIA WHEN
THE THREAT IS REAL!"
Hillary Clinton was quoted as saying, " Many believe in the End Times. I believe we simply need a Change of Direction." (End Times is a political code word for the ignorant masses who believe in Bible Prophecy) Her "change of direction" is a 180 degree turn around from a Judeo-Christian based society & culture to a satanic, socialist America.
Hillary Clinton, repeated the mantra of every hard core Satanist and Lucifer Worshiper who believes they can change Bible Prophecy and Reverse Revelation, giving Satan the victory over YHWH GOD.
YODA, in STAR WARS EPISODE III, made the same similar statement, "The prophecy can be changed" and "Anyone who believes in moral absolutes is evil, of the dark side."
I am hoping this is a joke. But it is awesome nonetheless.
The woman that killed to save lives.
Allegedly many more people could have been killed at the New Life Church in Colorado Springs. But this member/security guard ended the massacre but not before it took two sisters, 16 and 18 years old. Very tragic. Thankfully this woman reacted.

The solution to figure out which GOP candidate is the bestest Christian is......
snake handling and a speaking in tongues contest. Words are cheap and I have heard by fair share of bullshit from the GOP candidates now let's back it up with some action. And by action I mean snake handling and freestyling with some tongues. I think the next debate will be appropriate. Each candidate should be given 5 minutes to be filled with the holy spirit and bust out some mad tongues. We will need some interpreters. So Benny Hinn should be invited to judge. It should be fun and insightful. By the way Tom Tancredo, I dont want to hear anything that resembles the Spanish language out of you. Next the candidates should be forced to handle snakes. I am talking rattle snakes and coral snakes (real poisinous shit). They should be given a snake until a 5 minute time limit is up, or they die. Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter will be on hand to suck the venom out if so needed. I believe this is the sole way to judge who should be the GOP nominee.

A tour to encourage voters to vote their values is being launched in Iowa. I assume these values include the pointless task of getting Roe V. Wade overturned and returned to the states to be reaffirmed and stopping gay people, whose sexual preference continues to destroy families and make puppies cry.

I mostly agree with Paul and his campaign for freedom from the chains of government. But on some issues I disagree with him. One of them is presented here. I do not believe that states should be able to theoretically decide that heroin is legal. There are some vices that government should take a stand on and protect the populace from and I believe destructive drugs is one such vice. Legalizing marijuana is debatable but beyond that people should not be given a choice. On the issue of prostitution I also have some reservations about allowing states to legalize it. Cohesive family units (gay or straight) are essential to maintaining a stable society and prostitution could have a hand in undermining these units. But on the other hand women do own their own bodies and can choose to do what they want with them.

The Story
I am going to have to go against popular opinion and say that 23 months seems a bit harsh for dog fighting. I know what he did was horrible and I believe he must be punished but it seems as if some are just piling on at this point.
