He got us entangled in WWI which in turn paved the way for WWII. He also suffered from the same ideological delusions that W. suffers from. They both thought they could eliminate tyranny and change the world single-handily. That amount of hubris is unforgivable in my opinion. It is also interesting that most of the "great" presidents launched wars while the "bad" presidents ruled during relative peace. I suppose wars and their aftermath usually mark dramatic shifts in history, thus the leaders at the time are looked upon kindly.
