I am back.

I have been in a deep depression that Huckabee is doing so well in the polls. I can't believe we have progressed so little and that we are so stupid that we continue to elect leaders by how much they profess they love Jesus. I have a feeling if Jesus was on earth now the neo-fascistic, conservative, pre-millennial, fundamentalist, nationalistic swine would be bitterly disappointed. I am not even sure what Christianity means in a modern context. The message of Christ has been twisted in such a way as to make it unrecognizable. I can't imagine a more severe punishment than spending eternity with many of these people. But anyways I am going to try posting more. I was watching George Will this morning on "This Week". He is a brilliant and authentic conservative and I shared his dismay at how we have digressed on religious issues. He spoke of the election of the Republican ,Taft, even though Taft was a Unitarian. Unitarians reject the belief in a Holy Trinity. Now around 100 years later we refuse to elect anyone who is not a fundamentalist Christian. The Republican party is coming upon a precipice which could throw them into the pits of Theocracy. They better tread carefully.
