British teacher Gillian Gibbons was convicted of insulting Islam for letting her pupils name a teddy bear Muhammad and sentenced to 15 days in prison and deportation from Sudan, one of her defense lawyers said Thursday.

I understand that we must walk a fine line in not pissing off Muslims anymore than they already are. I also understand that U.S. and Western policy in general has directly contributed to anti-American sentiment among the Muslim world. But sometimes one must call bullshit bullshit. And this is a fine example.

Now Sudanese protesters are calling for her execution.
