This movie is going to cause a new skirmish in the culture wars. It is based off a trilogy of books by Philip Pullman. I finished the first and am nearly done with the second. They are very well written and are entertaining for adults and children alike. The premise of the book is going to send many Christians into fits. CHECK out the basic plot. But I would encourage people not to overly hide and protect their children from different modes of thought. At some point kids are going to grow into adults and go forth into the "secular" world. And at that point they should be equipped with at least a general knowledge about how different people think. Otherwise one may find oneself in a series of embarrassing situations.
